Joining Fallen Shadow

Welcome to the home of Fallen Shadow, a casual Alliance guild on Shadowsong-EU made up of a bunch of likeable yet generally crazy people who play the game for fun. We're mostly an over 18's Guild, but that doesn't mean we don't welcome younger players, and we highlight the fun that can be had in raids, instances and Guild events whilst not being too worried about the speed of progress or the colour of the loot.

We're an English speaking Guild and the majority of our players are from the UK but we do have players from various places in Europe, which can provide some entertaining conversations (especially about food if you talk to the Italians). Above all we're a social Guild and we welcome applications from players of all experiences and levels from max level peeps looking for a relaxed atmosphere and fun raiding to relative newcomers to the game looking for some advice and fun along the way.

There's lots of information about the Guild and how we operate in the links in the menu on the left hand side of this page. If you want to join us then please post an application in the Recruitment section of the forum.

Into the Dragon Soul

Its been a while since the release of Dragon Sould and we've been busy working our way through the content, this pictures a couple of resets old, but forunately we seem to be faster at downing bosses than writing blogs ;)

Here's a shot of our first Ultraxion kill

Ultraxions Chest

And then soon after we added Blackhorns helm to our mantle piece

Blackhorn

Now Blackhorns down we're busy hitching a ride on Deathwing, but he's still circling the Maelstom waiting to land, more news soon I hope.

Congratulations to all the raiders who've been pushing through the Dragon Soul since release.

Screenshot Competition Part 2
Written by DiddyDi

So, the screenshot competition had a lot of entries and we couldn't show them all in one post last week so here are the rest.  They're all really good and it made it very very hard for the Officers to choose which ones would go through the final Guild vote.

Fenchurch decided to pay the throne room of the King of Stormwind a visit and show his pet mechanical squirrel around, he seems to have been accepted into the King Guard in this screenshot (although the camera does seem to have been on the floor, something to do with being  gnome perhaps?)

On his Paladin alt our lovely druid healer Lostara went looking for a scenic view of the sky in Outland............and found a lovely one to share with us.

Xaila went to honour the Night-Elf High priestess in the temple in Darnassus, and introduced Egbert to the great lady.  I'm not sure Egbert would have been impressed though as he does tend to run around without a care even in front of evil raid bosses.

Quebesca's very blue image in front of the nexus on a blue drake was a great shot of the general Coldarra area.

And finally, Truvox decided to defend the homestead in Darkshire against the evils of Deathwing with just his Giant Sewer Rat for protection...........................

Screenshot Competition

In September we announced our first ever screenshot competition for the Guild which asked Guild members to take a screenshot of their character, preferably with a companion pet, in a location of their choice.  With a Mekengineers Chopper up for first prize, and companion pets for the runners up, we wanted people to be as creative as possible, and we weren't disappointed.  Some really lovely and imaginative shots were submitted for the competition and the Officers found selecting a few to go through for a final vote by Guild members was really difficult.  But, eventually, we found five for the final vote and, in a very close contest, the winner eventually was Henna and Chao with their shot of hunters in a wintery wasteland trying to find a way home.

To be perfectly honest it does look like Henna is trying to shoot Chao in the head but she insists there was a bear out of shot that was about to pounce whilst he was distracted reading the map.  Congratulations to both of you, as both of them have the Chopper a secret prize kindly donated by Fenchurch was offered instead and Henna happily chose to adopt a Panderan Monk into her collection.

We had 10 entries altogether and it will be a really long blog post if I put them all up in one go, so for today here are the remaining shortlisted images which the Guild voted on (the others will be published next week).

In joint second place were both Raynestorm and Kilvanas, after some discussion and people being ever so nice and deferential, Raynestorm was awarded the Chopper (we'd bought it we might as well use it) for his shot of a Paladin honoring the tomb of Uther the Lightbringer.  He may have been instructing Lurky on the proper respect a murloc should have for an honoured Paladin but I doubt the little guy was listening.

Kilvanas showed us he was ready and willing to go into battle in the Firelands with his Corehound pet ready at his side in this very colour co-ordinated screenshot.

He seems to have persuaded his pet to stop digging up the bones of all those who've been saving Azeroth from the menace of the Firelands bosses recently, which is kind of nice as I'm pretty sure a lot of them belong to members of the Guild.

Lubomira (also known as Emma) took inspiration from her dwarf and the fact it was that time of year we celebrate the fact that beer exists.  Being a dwarf what else could she do but go to Brewfest outside of Ironforge and treat her tiny pink pachyderm to some scrumptious Brewfest Ale.  She chose to add a de-weaponised mechanical companion (basically a robot bunny) to her collection.

The final screenshot to make it through to the Guild vote was a combined effort by Ordos, Nocebo and Cameldae (who was known as Houseroad at the time).  It is a truly fun shot with all 3 of them in costume, although, whilst Nocebo the Warlock looks perfectly in character with the glowing pumpkin head on, Ordos is slightly disturbing in a spring dress and bunny rabbit ears.....................................

As Ordos and Camel weren't too bothered about the companion pet prizes Nocebo happily accepted a Personal World Destroyer for his collection, which seems to suit his warlock like personality perfectly well.

Thanks to all who took part, the remaining screenshots will be shown next week!

Further into the Fire!

So, we've not been idle the last few weeks and have made further incursions into Firelands with 4 more bosses falling down and admitting defeat.

Congratulations to all who've been raiding and learning these fights to make the progress we've made whilst having so much fun.  Ragnaros is waiting for us, hopefully with tea and cakes, but I have the feeling he won't like us much...........................................

In other news we also had some luck and the Firey Raven mount dropped from Alysrzor, congratulations to Minjacat who won the roll for it (I personally think it look better than the original Raven Lord one too), fingers crossed more will drop in the future.
